Insomniatical
I lay down with my eyes closed.
My body already relaxing under the blanket.
My arms and legs are still.
Suddenly just as I am falling asleep
My legs rumble, move and start to sway.
I realise they have their own thoughts.
They seem to say ‘never sleep ha ha ha.’
There seems to be a song,
A song I cannot hear.
There surely must be music playing,
My legs are moving yet,
I hear no sound, feel no beat.
As my eyes droop, my mind fails.
This play time must end soon.
The later time seems to get
The less sleep welcomes me.
The end seems to come too soon,
Is it the end of my mind?
Or the end of the restlessness.
